Bukayo Saka: Arsenal star proves he's bright talent, bags As in GSCE

- Bukayo Saka is currently Arsenal’s top assisting player in all competitions this season with nine assists

- Despite his promising career, the 18-year old is also very prolific in academics

- His former teachers ranked him as one of the brightest students in his class who passed his GCSE with impressive A grades

Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka is fast becoming one of the most promising young prospects in football.

Having broken through the ranks during Unai Emery’s reign, the 18-year old is now well established under Mikel Arteta and his performance fully justify his place in the team.

Away from the football pitch, Saka is quite a brilliant lad when it comes to books.

His rise in prominence in the football pitch has not come as a surprise to his former teachers at Greenford High School in Ealing, West London.

This is despite the fact that Saka is a straight-A student and has been prolific in the academics department.

According to Mark Harvey, one of his former teachers, Saka performed quite exemplarily in his GCSE in 2019.

“In the last year of doing GCSEs, Bukayo was out of school with Arsenal quite a bit, but he was brilliant. He knuckled down, got really good grades and came out with flying colours. In terms of a sportsman: superb. In terms of a student: role model.” Harvey, his former PE teacher, told The Times.

Saka completed his GCSE two summers and scored an impressive three As and four A- only six months before his debut for Arsenal in the Europa League tie with Vorskla Poltava.

He told the Arsenal website that despite excelling academically, his favorite subject was PE.

"I got four As and three As in my GCSEs, so I did quite well at school. My favourite lesson was obviously PE, but I also liked business studies a lot, I got an A in that," he told the Arsenal website.

Despite being 18, he has been integral for the Gunners this season, making 26 appearances in all competitions.

He also set up a stunning comeback for his side against Everton over the weekend with a superb cross which was met by Eddie Nketiah to level matters in the first half.

In total, he has nine assists across all competitions this season – more than any other Arsenal player.

Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that Cameroonian football legend Samuel Eto'o has made it clear that his former teammate at Barcelona Lionel Messi is the best footballer in the world.

His statement comes hours after the former African player of the year was quoted to have named Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo as the best of all time.

Eto'o who played in Italy with Inter Milan was asked to talk about the present rivalry between his former club and Juventus.
