The people of Kpekpo in the North Tongu District of Volta Region who share muddy drinking water with cattle have made their voices known as they cry to the government for urgent assistance toward the supply of potable water.

A report gathered by YEN.com.gh indicates that the inhabitants of Kpekpo and it environs lack basic amenities with one of such relevant ones being good drinking water.

The only source of water for the community is a muddy stream that serves as a drinking place for cattle.

It is indicated that the situation even worsens in the dry season where the unpotable water being managed dries up. Sadly, members of the town have been unable to get the responsible stakeholders to solve their urgent problem.

It is reported that the last time the MP and DCE for the area visited the community was during the last election year which is 2016 to campaign and nothing has been heard from them since then.

"Our plea is to get Government, philanthropist, NGO's and any Individuals on board to help get a good drinkable water through the drilling of boreholes to enable us acquire good drinking water as our children are getting sick each and every day," a concerned community member said to YEN.com.gh

"As for 'collection' you are supposed to be touched to give it, but today, whether you are touched to give or not, please make a contribution because I am completely broke," he said.
