Osei Bonsu: Trotro driver who knocked down and killed policeman declared wanted

The police have declared a trotro driver who knocked down and killed a policeman by running his vehicle over him in Accra on Friday, February 28, 2020.

The identity of the driver has been given as Osei Bonsu. He ran over the policeman who was on duty. He is alleged to have attempted escaping arrest after he flouted road traffic rules.

When the incident happened, the driver bolted leaving behind his mate (bus conductor) who was arrested and has since been granted bail.

The mate’s name has been given an Emmanuel Agyekum.

According to Graphic online, Agyekum told the police that after the incident happened, the driver asked him to run so he also complied.

He said he was accosted by a stranger who wanted to know what was going on.

Agyekum said after narrating the incident, the person arrested him and took him to the East Legon Police Station.

The owner of the vehicle showed up at the police station and he was asked to provide the documents of the vehicle, a Ford Transit.

The police also tasked him to provide the run-away driver, Osei Bonsu within one week or would be sent to court as an accomplice.

YEN.com.gh earlier reported that the embattled Auditor-General, Daniel Domelevo says he is not afraid or worried about calls for his removal from office.

Mr. Domelevo said, if he is ousted from office he will not go hungry and that will not be the end of his world.

He opined that he will go into farming if he is sacked or removed from office.
