Recent images sighted of a vegetable vendor collecting his goods from a dirty gutter has given YEN.com.gh concern to raise awareness about where you purchase your vegetables.
Vegetables provide essential nutrients for the body and it is very important that one takes interest in how it is cultivated, handled prior to getting to the market, when it reaches the market and when it finally makes it to the dinner table.
The recent photos show a vegetable vendor, who sells his goods from a wheelbarrow collecting same from a gutter after he reportedly had a minor accident and some of the vegetables fell into the gutter.
The vegetable vendor was captured in photos collecting them from a dirty gutter to sell to his consumers.
At the expense of the health of consumers and not his pocket, he decided not to leave them in the gutter but picked them from the dirty drain and added to the ones in the wheelbarrow.
The man’s identity was not disclosed but the alarming photos raises major concerns about how vegetables are cultivated and treated before they end up in the markets and finally in the homes of people.
