John Dumelo pounds fufu on his campaign trail in Ayawaso West Wuogon

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency, John Dumelo has started a door-to-door campaign to canvass votes from electorates.

On Tuesday, March 3, the actor was on the University of Ghana campus interacting with students who form a chunk of the voters in the constituency.

The highlight of the campus door-to-door campaign was when the wannabe MP decided to plait the hair of a female student.

On Wednesday, March 4, Mr. Dumelo was in Abelemkpe and Dzorwulu (suburbs in the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency) with his door-to-door campaign.

He interacted with residents in the area, trying to convince them why they should vote for him come December 7, 2020.

The highlight of Wednesday’s event was when John Dumelo was pictured pounding fufu for one of the constituents.

The 35-year-old advised the constituents not to allow themselves to be bought by politicians during the election period.

If someone gives you GHc1, you will spend it and it will finish right now. But if I come and give you jobs, it’s forever and ever,” Dumelo said.

On their part, some of the constituents assured him of their support and vote come December.

Dumelo began his political career a few years ago but has quickly risen up the ladder in Ghana’s politics.

He became the party’s parliamentary candidate after securing 758 votes representing over 88% of the total votes cast.

YEN.com.gh earlier reported that a young man by name Godwin Nayaw Bamiah Yombu has defrauded a number of unsuspecting Ghanaians to the sum of GHC100,000.

The suspect is alleged to be a former aspiring youth organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the North East Region. He promised to secure the victims auction vehicles.
