The parade for the 63rd Independence Day celebration is currently underway at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
The celebration has the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago Keith Christopher Rowley as the special guest of honour.
Also in attendance are former President John Agyekum Kufuor and many other dignitaries.
Interestingly, former President John Mahama was not spotted among the dignitaries.
A photo sighted by YEN.com.gh shows a seat tagged with his name lying empty. The seat was just to the left of Kufuor.
The photo of Mahama's absence has led to a lot of debate on social media.
Meanwhile, the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II was the special guest at the ongoing 63rd Independence Day Celebration and he stole the show.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II arrived at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in his Rolls Royce and was spotted at the event with his wife Julia Osei Tutu and an entourage.
Photos and a video of showing Otumfuo's arrival have surfaced online.
