4 major accidents that have so far broken the hearts of Ghanaians in 2020

In less than 3 months into 2020, there have been ghastly accidents that have broken the hearts of many Ghanaians.

All these accidents have one thing in common - they leave a bad taste in the mouth of families of the accident victims.

Most recent is the Kawampe-Kintampo accident which left almost all of the accident victims burnt beyond recognition.

YEN.com.gh has however compiled a list of major accidents that left Ghanaians sad

1. 34 killed in Cape-Coast - Takoradi highway

Thirty- four people died with many others injured in an accident that happened at 12:15 am Tuesday, January 14, 2020, on the Cape Coast-Takoradi Highway.

Among the dead were 20 males, 11 females and three children. Further information reveals that 29 people died on the spot while the remaining died at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital.

2. 28 burnt to death at Kuwampe- Kintampo

More than 20 persons are feared dead after a head-on collision at Kawampe in the Kintampo North Municipality of the Bono East Region.

According to a report filed by Graphic.com.gh, the Metro Mass Bus which was carrying sacks of fresh pepper and about 12 passengers and heading towards Kintampo from Tamale, collided head-on with the Sprinter minibus between Kawampe and Dawadawa at about 4.00 am Monday. The bodies were burnt beyond recognition.

3. 6 die at Obretema on Accra-Kumasi Highway

The which occurred on March 2, 20202 instantly killed five people on the spot when a Mercedes Benz Cargo truck with registration number GE 5764-V lost control and crashed into a Toyota Tacoma pick-up with registration number GS 1312-11.

The other died later at the Suhum Government Hospital.

4. Kobe and Gianna Bryant

The death of basketball legend, Kobe Bryant and his lovely 13-year-old daughter together with nine other people lost their lives in a helicopter crash.

Although the accident is not Ghanaian related, most Ghanaians were heartbroken when the news of the helicopter crash broke on January 20, 2020.

In other news, YEN.com.gh reveals that four suspects have been arrested in connection with the killing of Assemblyman for Sogakope South, Marcus Mawutor Adzahli.

The Volta Regional Police Command, in a statement on Sunday, March 8, 2020, said the four persons arrested are assisting police with investigations and would be arraigned before court soon.

The late Assemblyman Adzahli was killed in his home by unknown assailants who broke into his apartment at dawn of Sunday, March 1.
