Africans became a bit relieved when the case of a Cameroonian student in China was reportedly cured of the disease after undergoing treatment in China.
After his cure from the disease, there were a lot of misconceptions that the virus could not affect Africans because the African gene was resistant to the virus.
This misconception which has not been scientifically proven and announced by the World Health Organisation has been proven wrong with a few cases recorded in certain African countries.
YEN.com.gh has compiled the list of all African countries with recorded cases of the virus with their statistics
The Democratic Republic of Congo as of Tuesday, March 10, 2020, recorded its first case, bringing to a total of 106 cases recorded in Africa.
The DR Congo case was recorded from a Belgian National who had moved into the country some days ago. He is currently under quarantine.
According to reports and statistics, the majority of the cases have been recorded in Egypt where 59 persons have been found to be with the virus. One person has however died as a result.
Algeria happens to be the first African country that recorded the deadly coronavirus.
So far 20 persons have tested positive to having the virus.

Tunisia has five cases recorded
Senegal has four cases.
Official figures indicate that there are three persons affected in Morroco, with one dying as a result.

Cameroon also has two people testing positive to the virus
In neighbouring Togo, one case has been reported.
11. Burkina Faso
