Diana Danso, a Ghanaian streek hawker who has been selling petty items for 8 good years has been pleasantly surprised with GHC1,000, a gesture that caused her to shed uncontrollable tears.

Photos shared on the official Facebook handle of the Crime Check Foundation who made the presentation captured the lady with a teary face filled with emotions.

Ibrahim Oppong Kwarteng the founder of the Crime Check Foundation made the presentation in what is thought to be under the group's Street Charity Project with funding from Zoro King.

Reports indicate that the middle-aged woman runs her sales on the working capital of just GHC 200, which is very little given the current economic situation in Ghana.

According to Diana Danso, the little amount she makes from her hawking takes care of her two children together with her herself.

It is not exactly clear whether the middle-aged woman has a husband or what happened to the father of the children but it is obvious from her reported narration that there is no man that provides her with any assistance.

Her shock and tears of joy in the photos after receiving GHC1,000 is clearly understood given the kind of situation she's has been in for several years. A number of women in poverty have been pleasantly surprised in a similar way lately.

Not long ago, YEN.com.gh reported that a 78-year-old woman identified as Mama Rose Adjei who picks water sachets and sells for a living has been pleasantly surprised with GHC 1,000 by Crime Check Foundation's Ibrahim Oppong Kwarteng.

The story was shared on the official Facebook page of the Crime Check Foundation where it was revealed that the old woman has no children to take care of her.
