Ghana’s First Lady, Rebecca Akufo-Addo continues to play a key role in her husband’s administration by undertaking critical and important developmental projects and programs through her foundation.
The Rebecca Foundation on march 10, 2020 presented startup kits to 180 women from across the country.
The startup kits, comprising sewing machines, deep freezers, fridges, kitchen stoves, etc are to enhance the businesses of the selected women.
According Mrs. Akuof-Addo the initiative is also to support and empower the women economically. The foundation also provided training in various areas for the women.
The beneficiary women are made up of fishmongers, traders and artisans. They were drawn from the Central, Greater Accra, Western North and Western Regions.
Fifty women who were trained in soap-making with assistance from the National Board for Small-Scale Industries (NBSSI) at Assin Fosu in the Central Region were also presented with startup kits to begin their soap-making business.
Rebecca Akufo-Addo celebrated her 69th birthday today, March 12, 2020 and her husband took to social to wish her the best of the day.
