In a statement made by John Dumelo, the main motive for embarking on such an exercise was in the bid to protect the people who made sure that Ghanaians are safe.

In the words of the parliamentary candidate himself, "we need to protect those who protect us". It is thought and hoped that the items would truly help prevent the spread of COVID-19 among the police force in the area.

Although it has not been confirmed, it can be said that John Dumelo would be expected to make other similar donations in the near future, given the fact that he previously donated thousands of hand sanitizers to many students in the same fight against COVID-19.
