A photo of a National Identification Authority (NIA) official covering himself entirely to prevent getting infected with COVID-19 during the registration has caused a massive stir online.

It is not clear the exact location the photo was taken but it is surely in the Eastern Region where registration for Ghana cards is still being undertaken by the NIA despite a ban by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

It would be recalled how YEN.com.gh earlier reported that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in a Facebook Live video announced that all public and private schools including universities and churches were from March 16, 2020, to be suspended for the next four weeks.

According to the president, the only condition under which a number of people could come together was that their number should be below 25.

However, in a statement on its Facebook page on Thursday, the NIA insisted that its conduct does not violate the President’s directives on public gatherings in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Authority further argued that “the state of Ghana is not in a lock-down, and the business of Government is not expected to cease.”

For that matter, the NIA continues to conduct its registration which has forced some of the workers to protect themselves from COVID-19 in all manner of ways.

One social media user named Sam Sampson reacted to the photo with the words:

Another named Frederick Proverbs Quaicoe retorted:

In other news, a young Ghanaian lady who resigned from being a bank manager to become a housewife because of the persistent demand by her husband has narrated how the husband now calls her a financial burden for not working.

The lady sent a letter to Hitz FM's The Late Night Show, narrating the whole experience from beginning to end.

According to the sad wife who revealed everything to the host named Tima, she met the husband on campus as he lectured her during a Master's program.
