Coronavirus scare: 3 suspected victims quarantined in Ashanti region

- Three persons suspected to have contracted the coronavirus have been quarantined in the Ashanti region

- According to Dr Danso, samples have been taken from the suspected persons for testing

- If positive, this would bring the number of recorded cases to 27

Information reaching YEN.com.gh indicates that three persons suspected to have contracted the coronavirus have been quarantined in the Ashanti region.

According to the Chief Executive Officer of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), Dr Oheneba Owusu Danso, samples have been taken from the suspected persons for testing at the designated labs.

He made this known at a press conference organised by the regional health directorate in Kumasi, today, Monday, March 23, 2020.

Out of the number recorded, four of the cases are from the Ashanti region.

In order to stay safe and free of the coronavirus, Dr Danso urged Ghanaians to wash their hands regularly and adhere to social distancing and other precautionary measures.

He also encouraged the consumption of more fruits and vegetables in order to build immune systems to withstand diseases.

Meanwhile, there was drama at a public transport terminal as two Chinese men joined a public transport vehicle (trotro).

Passengers of the trotro literally refused to board the same car as the Chinese men obviously in fear of contracting the Coronavirus disease.

In a video sighted by YEN.com.gh, many of the passengers who had boarded the green and yellow-painted Sprinter bus could be seen getting out of the car while the two Chinese men still sat in.
