The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, has warned former President Mahama to stop making unnecesary inputs anytime President Akufo-Addo addresses the nation about COVID-19.
This comment from Chairman Wontumi follows Mahama's response after Akufo-Addo appointed Dr. Anarfi Asamoa-Baah as the Presidential Coordinator for the Government’s coronavirus Response Programme.
The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress revealed that the team is made up of experts from the various fields that are required to implement a national action plan on COVID-19.
Chairman Wontumi however, stated that as the government put in measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, former President Mahama should remain mute and stop countering President Akufo-Addo anytime he addressed the nation.
He described the counter-reactions from Mahama as “unnecessary jokes” and advised him to rather stick to the guidelines President Akufo-Addo has laid down in the wake of the pandemic.
