COVID-19 fight: Stop your unnecessary interference - Wontumi to Mahama

- Chairman Wontumi has warned former President Mahama to stop making unnecessary inputs anytime President Akufo-Addo addresses the nation about COVID-19

- He described the counter-reactions from Mahama as “unnecessary jokes”

- He, however, asked that former president Mahama follows all the directives laid down by the president

The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, has warned former President Mahama to stop making unnecesary inputs anytime President Akufo-Addo addresses the nation about COVID-19.

This comment from Chairman Wontumi follows Mahama's response after Akufo-Addo appointed Dr. Anarfi Asamoa-Baah as the Presidential Coordinator for the Government’s coronavirus Response Programme.

The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress revealed that the team is made up of experts from the various fields that are required to implement a national action plan on COVID-19.

Chairman Wontumi however, stated that as the government put in measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, former President Mahama should remain mute and stop countering President Akufo-Addo anytime he addressed the nation.

He described the counter-reactions from Mahama as “unnecessary jokes” and advised him to rather stick to the guidelines President Akufo-Addo has laid down in the wake of the pandemic.

Meanwhile, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, some Ghanaian companies have ventured into the manufacturing of hand sanitizers at a cheaper cost to meet the demand for the product on the back of the increase in the cases of the coronavirus in the country and the world.

Due to the high demand for hand sanitizers by Ghanaians to help combat the novel COVID-19, some suppliers of the product increased the price of hand sanitizer by 200% others by 1000%.
