Doctor, 26, dies after dedicating time to help coronavirus patients
- A young doctor in Pakistan has lost his life after battling the coronavirus
- Dr Usama Riaz spent his time screening and treating Covid-19 patients
- However, he was infected by the virus and ended up dying as a result of it

Health workers are on the frontlines in the fight against the coronavirus. Sadly, many get infected and some don't make it.
A social media user, @_SJPeace_, took to social media to share the story of Dr Usama Riaz. The young doctor was working hard to try and safe people who were infected with Covid-19.
However, he ended up contracting the virus himself and despite being young, Dr Riaz did not make it.

@_SJPeace_ captioned his post:
"This is Dr. Usama Riaz. He spent past weeks screening and treating patients with Corona Virus in Pakistan. He knew there was no PPE. He persisted anyways. Today he lost his own battle with coronavirus but he gave life and hope to so many more. Know his name."

Another tweep, @AhmedAlwayz, added that Dr Riaz was only 26 when he died of the virus.
His post read:
"He was just 26 years old, a Medical Doctor by profession, Dr. Usama Riaz was a courageous citizen of Pakistan. He knew the danger he was getting into but till his last breath, he tried his best. May he RIP."
Social media users were heartbroken over the news of Dr Riaz's death and they sent their condolences online.
Pam Fraim, who goes by the Twitter handle @PForsterFraim, commented:
"He is indeed a hero!"

In South Africa, the number of confirmed cases continue to rise. Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize says that the coronavirus pandemic is changing and each nation should adjust accordingly.
Speaking during the interministerial briefing on Tuesday, Mkhize confirmed that South Africa has seen another increase in confirmed cases.
The total number of infections has now risen to 554, after 402 reported on Monday ahead of the president's announcement.
