Emma captioned the post:

"Three generations of social distancing as my dad meets his grandson for the first time."

Emma revealed the photo was taken by the little boy's mom, whose name is also Emma.

Emma added:

"My dad is also doing well and is completely oblivious to his new fame. He wouldn’t let me take a pic of him but he’s smiling! My brother lives about two minutes away from him so he went up to say hello. He knew he couldn’t come in. He is looking forward to holding the baby soon."

The image went viral, gathering over 722 800 reactions from social media users. Many found the image heart-breaking because of the granddad's expression after he could not hold his grandchild.

Twitter user, @Nunya_Bizznizz, commented:

"I know this is a joyous occasion, and congrats to you, but at the same time, it's heartbreaking to see the look on your father's face."

Moraka King Nare, who goes by the Twitter handle @NareMoraka, wrote:

"Sad thing is that he could not get to hold him in his hands, on the plus side he saw him."

Tatiana Rodríguez, @TatianaR312, added:

"This is such hell. Thank you for modeling what we need to do to stay safe, but it breaks my heart to see that grandad not being able to hold his grandchild."

Another tweep, @mamma_fairy, said:

"I bawled, beautiful and sad at the same time."
