Kind man clears university students' debt to allow them graduate

- Students at Walter Sisulu University faced a huge dilemma, as they were unable to settle their fees

- Due to the debt, the group would not have been allowed to graduate

- Fortunately, Lonwabo Mafunda came to their rescue and settled their debt

A group of students at Walter Sisulu University are breathing a huge sigh of relief, thanks to the intervention of a Good Samaritan.

The academics were unable to settle their fees owed to the university and were therefore unable to graduate.

Thankfully, Lonwabo Mafunda learnt of their plight and stepped in to save the day.

Former University Sports South Africa boxing chairperson and as a former student, Mafunda empathised with the learner's situation.

Mafunda said, “Life gives us different opportunities and if you are in a position to give then you should do so. Give back to help the needy.”

Via the university's website, Mafunda lauded the lecturers at the tertiary institution.

Mafunda added, "They always supported and encouraged new ideas from us students. I can proudly say that this is what contributed to me registering a business as a student.”

Mafunda is the owner of LEM Consultants and he credits the university for his success.

The phenomenal student recently graduated Cum Lauded with a Master's degree in Pure Mathematics.
