COVID-19: Akufo-Addo releases 10 prayer points for National Fasting and Prayers

- President Akufo-Addo has released a guide for the national fasting and prayers against the Coronavirus disease

- The guide is to show participants of the fasting and prayers session what prayer topics they should dwell on

- The 10-point guide contains Bible quotations for Christians and Quran quotations for Muslims to use during their prayers

President Nana Akufo-Addo has released 10 prayers points to guide Christians and Muslims as Ghana observes a national a day of fasting and prayers against the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

President Akufo-Addo on Saturday, March 21, 2020, while addressing the nation on new measures to battle COVID-19 declared Wednesday, March 25, 2020, to fast and pray for God's guidance and protection.

"Whilst we continue to adhere to these measures and ramp up our efforts to defeat the virus, I urge all of us, also, to seek the face of the Almighty. So, on Wednesday, 25th March 2020, I appeal to all Ghanaians, Christians and Muslims, to observe a national day of fasting and prayer. Let us pray to God to protect our nation and save us from this pandemic," he stated.

Ahead of the fasting and prayers, Akufo-Addo released guides for both Christians and Muslims to use for their prayers.

The guide urges Ghanaians to humble themselves before God, confess their sins, and ask for favours from the Almighty.

The prayer topics, as suggested in the guide, cut across thanksgiving, forgiveness, God's protection and an end to the pandemic.

All of the prayer topics came with relevant Bible quotations. Similarly, the Muslim topics came with relevant Quran verses.

Meanwhile, Ghana has closed all of its borders to human traffic effective Sunday, March 22, 2020.

The closure was announced by President Nana Akufo-Addo in a public broadcast on Saturday, March 21, 2020

According to Akufo-Addo, the move is to help reduce the importation of Coronavirus into the country.
