Real Madrid have reportedly slammed a '£450 million price tag' on Uruguay international Federico Valverde who has impressed at the Santiago Bernabeu this season.

The 21-year-old is the reason Los Blancos are no more chasing their dream of landing Frenchman Paul Pogba.

Valverde has just two goals and four assists across competitions so far, his impact on the field can not be overlooked.

According to Daily Star, the midfielder has been dubbed the next Luka Modric with his playing style and pace.

The youngster was handed more responsibility by his manager after Dani Ceballos and Mateo Kovacic left for Arsenal and Chelsea respectively.

His performances have now attracted other top European clubs to his attention with Manchester United topping the list of clubs interested in the Uruguay international.

Despite landing Bruno Fernandes two months back, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is still interested in adding depth to his midfielder and Valverde has been identified as the man.

With Pogba's future at Old Trafford unknown and Nemanja Matic advancing in age, the Norwegian born tactician is hoping to plan for the future to avoid surprises.

Daily Star quoting the Diario Madridista, the player's clause stands at €500m (£450m), effectively ruling out a move away.

Should any club attempt to sign him, he will become the new world's record signing after Neymar, who moved to Paris Saint Germain from Barcelona in 2017 for £198 million.

"We feel we are improving all the time,” Solskjaer said earlier this month.

"We know we lack one, two, three players to be considered a title contender and some experience and we know that. We are just going to start talking about going up the table, getting more points.”

YEN.com.gh earlier reported that Juventus are ready to go for the signing of Real Madrid defender Marcelo this summer on the recommendation of his former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo.

Since Portuguese star left the Spanish club, he has been communicating with Marcelo because of the superb relationship between them.

The Old Lady are even said to be preparing to fly to Madrid in other to meet Marcelo's representatives before coronavirus became more deadly.
