Obour speaks about father's death; demands autopsy report

- Obour, has requested an autopsy report to confirm the cause of death of his late father, Nana Osei Boansi Kuffour

Former MUSIGA President, Bice Osei Kuffour popularly known as Obour has requested an autopsy report from the Greater Accra Regional Hospital to confirm the cause of death of his late father, Nana Osei Boansi Kuffour, Oyokohene of Juaso.

This request was formally made to the hospital, formerly known as Ridge Hospital through Obour's lawyers, Smith & Adelaide, demanding a full post-mortem is carried out to determine what actually killed his father.

"If the medical facility is not in the position to undertake the autopsy within the shortest possible time, their client [Obour] will offer to contract an independent medical officer to undertake the autopsy, subject to the safety measures and regulations governing such procedures,” the lawyers said.

This request comes after reports went out that Obour concealed his father’s travel history and possible symptoms of COVID-19 when he sent him to the hospital on March 27, 2020, putting other patients and nurses at risk.

Obour who is currently aspiring for the NPP Parliamentary seat at Asante Akyem South has received serious bashing from Ghanaians for exposing nurses at the Ridge Hospital to the virus with some persons describing his actions as “selfish”.

Obour’s father, Nana Osei Boansi Kuffour, passed away on March 27, 2020, as a result of a coronavirus complication at the Ridge Hospital in Accra.

YEN.com.gh earlier reported that Obour lost his father, Nana Osei Boansi Kuffour, to the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

He died at the Ridge Hospital after being rushed to the facility on Thursday night.

According to information gathered by YEN.com.gh, Obour's father returned from the United Kingdom (UK) on Thursday, March 19, 2020.

Upon his return, Boansi Kuffuor was said to be in good health but he started coughing on Sunday, March 22, 2020.

Obour's father was sent to the Ridge Hospital where he was asked to be put on quarantine due to him exhibiting symptoms of Coronavirus.
