MUSIGA President Bice Osei Kuffour has discredited reports that he has tested positive for coronavirus.
In a Facebook post, Obour wrote boldly that such a report is fake and should be disregarded.
This was sighted by YEN.com.gh on Obour’s Facebook page.
This comes after his father was diagnosed of coronavirus eventually leading to his death.
Nana Boansi Kufour, 71, died at the Ridge Hospital after initially being treated of malaria.
He was said to have returned from the UK on March 19, 2020, and proceeded to his home in Kumasi.
However, Nana Kufour took ill on March 24, with a bad cough.
He was then transferred to his son in Accra and consequently conveyed to the hospital.
Reports have it that Obour allegedly refused to disclose his father’s travel history to the health officers there.
Therefore, without any suspicion, they also admitted him into the emergency ward.
It was after the situation was getting worse that Obour’s father was tested for coronavirus which proved positive.
About 20 of the health officers who took care of the old man have been asked to go on mandatory quarantine.
Given this backdrop, many people believe that Obour must have contracted the disease since he was with his father throughout.
However, he has said he does not have coronavirus.
The many criticisms had Obour swearing that the spirit of his late father will defend him.
The emergency ward of Ridge Hospital was also shut down for disinfection after the issue.
