Ghana Meteorological Agency predicts heavy rainfall today

- The Ghana Meteorological Agency has hinted that there will be heavy rainfall in some parts of the country today April 1, 2020

- The agency said there is a band of rain-bearing clouds between the coastal borders of Benin and Togo which may move westwards and affect the coastal and marine environment of Ghana

- Some parts of Ghana are currently experiencing showers while others have already started experiencing heavy rains

The Ghana Meteorological Agency says there will be heavy rains in some parts of Ghana today, April 1, 2020.

A statement from the Ghana Meteorological Agency said there is a band of rain-bearing clouds recorded today at 0500 UTC, between the coastal borders of Benin and Togo with the most active part in the Gulf and is expected to move westwards and affect the coastal and marine environment of Ghana.

The rainstorm is expected to induce cloudiness over the inland areas and produce moderate to heavy thunderstorms and rain over the Volta, Greater Accra, Eastern and Western Regions.

YEN.com.gh earlier reported that the Health Minister Kwaku Agyemang Manu had stated that 49 patients out of 195 in Ghana have been discharged.

They are said to be responding to treatment and will continue the next stage of treatment from home as they are on their way to full recovery.

Speaking at a press briefing at the Ministry of Information, the Health Minister said these 49 people will be closely monitored to ensure that they recover fully.

Currently, the total number of confirmed cases in Ghana stands at a total number of 195.
