Google has outdoored a new website that shows whether or not people are taking social distancing rules seriously or not.
The company revealed that it would soon release reports relating to population changes as everyone is urged to practice social distancing.
The report is expected to cover six categories including parks, stories and homes and will show data of change over several weeks.
YEN.com.gh has learned that the COVID-19 Community Mobility Reports website would reveal trends such as Retail and recreation, grocery and pharmacy, parks, transit stations, workplaces, and residential areas.
Per a CNBC report, the data will initially cover 131 countries as well as individual counties within certain states.
According to Google, the data would be collected in aggregates and not at the individual level.
The main idea behind the project is outline percentages which show potential surges in attendance and groupings.
Its first set of reports, collated between February 16 and March 29, 2020, shows that San Francisco County has seen a 72% drop in retail and recreation, a 55% decline in parks’ population and a 21% increase in residential population.
Meanwhile, Google has announced the creation of a special page focused on the coronavirus epidemic.
According to the company, the new page comes with tips on safety, statistics from official sources and more.
It is also intended to help fight misinformation about the coronavirus.
The sources include the World Health Organisation (WHO), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and platforms of local civic organisations.
