Two staff of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital including a doctor and nurse have reportedly tested positive for the dreaded coronavirus.

An internal communique sighted by YEN.com.gh, indicates that the two work at the Department of Medicine and Department of Child Health respectively.

The two, who are currently being taken care of in the hospital are responding to treatment in isolation.

The communique also notes that health authorities at the hospital are working to establish the primary source of the infections.

''Staff are therefore entreated to remain calm and follow the basic hygiene protocols.''

It further stated that: ''Management is committed to ensuring that all staff are safe and protected. As we distribute PPEs to all departments, measures are far advanced to procure adequate protective gears for all staff.''

This comes after YEN.com.gh reported that doctors at the Accident and Emergency Department of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital have threatened to withdraw their services.

The doctors' threats were as a result of claims of poor readiness to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to them, it is dangerous for a sideward at the department to be used as a coronavirus isolation center while they lack Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs).

Meanwhile, Disease Surveillance Department of the Ghana Health Service has confirmed that nine more cases of the coronavirus have been reported in Ghana.

Six of the nine cases were recorded from the Greater Accra region and three from the Ashanti region

Out of the 214 cases, three have recovered and 18 others have been discharged and are being treated at home

In other news, notable Ghanaian television hostess and actress, Joselyn Dumas, has the internet going nuts after she shared recent photos flaunting her massive hourglass physique in her workout outfit.

And even without her usual makeup and luxury dresses, the actress captured attention in her skintight sleeveless sportswear.
