Black Stars coach CK Akonnor to earn $25,000 per month

- Newly-appointed Black Stars coach, CK Akonnor will earn the cedi equivalent of $25,000 monthly

- He will also occupy the Airport residence allocated to the senior national team coaches

- His salary is, however, less than what his predecessor took

Spokesperson of the Ministry of Sports, Kofi Asare Brako has revealed that Black Stars coach, C.K Akonnor will get $25,000 as monthly salary.

According to him the senior national team coach has agreed his personal terms but is yet to put pen to paper to complete documentation of his two-year contract as coach of the Black Stars.

"In the contract, C.K Akonnor will be taking $25,000. It is in cedi equivalent," Kofi Asare Brako, who is also a personal aide to the sports minister revealed on Adom TV.

He also stated that coach Akonnor will also move into the official residence for Black Stars coaches.

In addition to the $25,000 monthly salary, Akonnor has been given a car and a house. The car and house are the same used by former coach Kwesi Appiah.

Meanwhile, YEN.com.gh earlier reported that former Black Stars and Hearts of Oak player Bernard Don Bortey has finally decided to hang his boots after a blistering professional career.

Bortey expressed some regrets after taking the decision to retire from football.

"I’m not God. Maybe where I reached was the stage God wanted me to finish it for someone to come and continue. I have pain in me but it’s past," the former winger said as he decided to call it quits.
