The Member of Parliament for Manhyia North, Collins Owusu Amankwah, has revealed that an individual who has tested positive for COVID 19 is in hiding in the Tafo Municipality of the Ashanti Region.
He added that the patient fled from an isolation centre in the country but refused to give further details of which particular centre it was.
He made this revelation while speaking on Kumasi-based Nhyira FM on Thursday, April 9, 2020.

He, however, assured that medical and security personnel overseeing isolation and quarantine centres are on high alert continuously monitoring patients so as not to allow another occurrence.
A similar case was reported to have occurred up north as one of the 10 foreigners who tested positive for the coronavirus in the region fled from her isolation centre.
Updates from the information minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, revealed that the lady has still not been found despite reports of she being in Accra.
As it stands now, Ghana's COVID-19 case count stands at 313 with the latest being recorded in the Central Region.
The cases in Ashanti region stands at twenty-five (25).

In other news, Kwamena Duncan, Ghana’s Central Regional Minister, says his region has recorded 86 suspected cases of the COVID-19.
According to the Minister, 84 out of the 86 persons tested negative after they went through test processes.
He also added that the remaining two were awaiting the results of their tests.
