- Ronaldinho has been moved away from jail to a luxury hotel
- The former Barcelona star was arrested for allegedly entering Paraguay with a fake passport
- Ronaldinho reportedly paid a staggering $1.6 million to bail himself and his brother
After seeking temporary release from the Paraguayan jail, Brazilian legend Ronaldinho Gaucho has been moved to an exquisite luxury hotel where he now enjoys five-star treatment, SunSport reports.
The former Ballon d’Or winner was released by the Paraguayan authorities after spending 32 days behind bars for allegedly using fake passport to gain entrance into the country.
He and his brother will remain under house arrest at the hotel until they are both cleared of wrongdoing by the police.
Ronaldinho was said to have paid a staggering $1.6 million to bail himself and his brother as reported by Spanish news outlet Marca.
They are now out of the highly secured jail and are moved to a luxury four-star hotel pending the time investigations are concluded.
The legend will continue to stay at the Palmaroga hotel in the Paraguayan capital of Asuncion.
He is said to have a net worth of £80million, but has reportedly run into money problems.
Ronaldinho is facing six months in prison after he was arrested and charged to court when he made attempt to enter Paraguay with a fake passport.
Before he was moved to the luxury hotel, the former PSG star was denied visitors as Paraguayan prison authorities enforce lock down of the entire country due to the rampaging coronavirus.
YEN.com.gh earlier reported that Barcelona legend Ronaldinho was condemned to a defeat in a foot-volley match as he lost back-to-back games to inmates convicted for convicted of robbery and murder.
The 40-year-old Brazilian was partnered with one of the prison workers for the encounters which they lost after his magic touches failed to come to his rescue.
According to SunSport, the former AC Milan star and his teammate were beaten by a team of ex-force-men, who were disgraced out of service.
This defeat was, however, the first Ronaldinho would encounter since he became an inmate of the Paraguayan prison in Asuncion.
