Accra Great Olympics to offload 13 players

According to the General Manager of the Ghana Premier League side Oluboi Commodore, Great Olympics wants to begin on a good note when the league resumes with 10 new signings.

“A lot of players have been shown the exit and we are also bringing in a lot of players. For the players put on transfer we have already told them and with time we will list their names. They are 13 players and the players coming in are ten players,” he told reporters.

“We have scouted some very good players, not players that will come to justify their inclusion," he added.

Olympics are currently 10th on the Ghana Premier league table with just five points above the drop zone and one of the teams that have conceded the most in the first round.

YEN.com.gh earlier reported that Former Hearts of Oak captain, Joseph Kpakpo Oti Ankrah who is popularly known as 'Joe Dakota' is reported to have died in the US after battling the deadly coronavirus.

The unfortunate event is said to have happened on Wednesday, April 8, 2020, at Silver Spring, Maryland after the 84-year-old former footballer battled with COVID-19 at the hospital's Internal Care Unit (ICU) for some time.

Joe Dakota played in central defense for Hearts of Oak between 1960 and 1970. He captained Hearts of Oak for a very long time and played as a defender.
