Sammy Awuku, the national organiser of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has donated sanitary items and other supplies to the Tetteh Quarshie Memorial Hospital at Akuapem Mampong on his birthday.
Awuku who doubles as the board chairman of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) turned 36 years old on Friday, April 10, 2020.
While he could not have a big celebration due to the self-quarantine and lockdown protocols being observed in Accra and other parts of Ghana, Awuku decided to celebrate with a donation.
The donation presented by the NPP guru himself is to help the Tetteh Quarshie Hospital manage its operations times of the COVID-19 outbreak.
Items donated at the brief ceremony included water, hand sanitizers, detergents, tissues, among others.
This is not the first time Sammy Awuku is making such a donation to a hospital.
It will be recalled in 2019, the NPP national organiser celebrated his 35th birthday by visiting the children's ward of the 37 Military Hospital in Accra to make a donation.
On that occasion, Sammy Awuku was accompanied by dancehall musician, Stonebwoy, who delivered a brief performance for the children who were admitted at the ward.
Also in Awuku's entourage on the day were EIB CEO, Bola Ray and 3FM presenter, Giovanni Caleb.
