Collen Mashawana has made a contribution towards the fight against the coronavirus. The entrepreneur handed out food, blankets and protective masks - among other things - to over 300 families in the Bekezela Informal Settlement on Friday.

Taking to social media last week, Mashawana gushed about giving back to the community and he prayed for South Africans during these hard times.

He captioned the photos:

"Looking forward to spending Easter Friday with the community of Bekezela Informal Settlement. we will donate food parcels, blankets, clothes and protective masks to over 300 families. May God be with you and protect you during these trying times. #collenmashawanafoundation."

South Africans applauded Mashawana's kindness and his story was even shared on the #ImStaying Facebook page.

Philippa van Niekerk commented:

"What an amazing man. Thank you."

Reakeatswe Baloyi said:

"May God bless you in each and every thing you do. Much respect for you."

Elijah Dan Maseko wrote:

"Well done my brother, I am proud of you."

Matha Khawula added:

"May you be blessed abundantly."

Mashawana is known for his kindness and he has made a habit out of helping people in need. He reportedly made good on a promise he made to a 26-year-old woman.

The Afribiz owner built a house for Tebogo Makwala, a woman who was dubbed the poorest in the community and Mashawana was touched by her poor living conditions.
