An old visually impaired woman called Yaya Kwanjit at Saanbona in the North East Region of Ghana with the wish to lie on a mattress before she dies says she will share the gifts received with needy people.
Yaya said this when she was asked in an interview with JoyNews, what she would do after receiving five different mattresses following her request to lie on one before her death.
Initially, the old and blind woman jokingly said that she would lie on all of them simultaneously with different parts of her body, and then got serious to assert that she would share them with other poor people.
It would be recalled that YEN.com.gh formerly reported that the old woman indicated that she got blind after she gave birth to her second child and she believes that if she had money to take care of herself, she would have still had her sight.
When her wish to lie on a mattress before her death was made public, many benevolent people and corporations came to the aid of the old woman, giving her lots of food items, a huge sum of money as well as five mattresses.
It was during the delivery of the goods that Yaya Kwanjit was asked what she would do with the lot, to which she gave the reply that shows her kind-heartedness and selfless nature.
While on the subject of giving to the needy, YEN.com.gh earlier reported that a 56-year-old Ghanaian cobbler called Opani Sarfo who could not endure the lockdown exercise because of extreme hunger broke down in tears on camera after receiving a gift of GHC1,000.
The father of five children was blessed with the gift by individuals in Virginia, USA, under the auspices of the Crime Check Foundation under the leadership of Ibrahim Oppong Kwarteng.
Opani Sarfo was spotted in his cobbler shop which was in violation of the lockdown exercise put in place by President Nana Akufo-Addo to contain the spread of COVID-19.
