Fact Check: Akufo-Addo is not addressing Ghanaians today - MOI confirms

YEN.com.gh has come across information stating that President Akufo-Addo would be addressing the nation today, April 18, 2020.

An infographic has been duplicated to look like the official poster mostly circulated before the president gave his national address on COVID-19.

However, a tweet sent by the Ministry of Information indicates that the president would be addressing the Nation tomorrow, Sunday, April 19, 2020.

However, the time for the address would be communicated later.

Should the president address the nation tomorrow, that would be his 7th address to the nation on the measures taken by the government to stop the spread of the coronavirus.

Ghanaians did not really seem pleased with this piece of information as some believed the time should just be communicated.

Senanu asked how Ghanaians were supposed to plan for the week.

Selassie jokingly asked that the president should announce a 4.0 GPA for all tertiary students.

Emperor said the recording should just be played instead of tomorrow.

In other news, the total number of recoveries in Ghana pertaining to the COVID-19 pandemic also called the novel coronavirus has increased greatly to 99, stirring massive joy.

According to the official website of the Ghana Health Service, all the 99 recoveries have been recorded in the Routine Surveillance exercise that is being undertaken.

The number moved to 99 because 16 new people recovered from the novel coronavirus in addition to the 83 people who had previously healed from the disease.
