In an interview with Accra FM on Saturday, April 18, 2020, the actor noted that he was aware of concerns expressed by some critics, but was quick to add that he was in politics only to serve humanity and ensure everyone prospers.
Addressing an earlier concern raised by from fellow showbiz personality, Samini that he [John] should not disappoint if elected into power as an MP, the NDC man said he cannot fail his people if given the nod.
“I can’t be a Member of Parliament and fail …, I’m looking at the future of being in politics and, so, I’m not here to fail; I’m here to serve humanity and let everybody have a prosperous life,” Dumelo said.
John Dumelo also described the virtual concert organized by the government to launch the COVID-19 Tracker app as needless.
The Ministry of Communication organized the concert on Monday, 13 April 2020
However, Mr. Dumelo, who revealed that he was not aware of the virtual concert until he saw comments about it on Twitter, said the resources used to organize the concert could have been used to fight the deadly virus in a more practical way.
