While the novel coronavirus has claimed thousands of lives, Maude Burke of Georgia is one of the many blessed survivors.

After a 17-day battle with the dreaded COVID-19, Burke gets to celebrate her very special birthday happy and healthy.

Madam Burke will be turning 100 years and there couldn’t have been a better birthday gift after recovering from coronavirus.

According to Krcrtv.com, Phoebe Putney Health Systems in Albany, Georgia disclosed that Maude Burke is the oldest coronavirus patient discharged at the health facility.

Staff gave her a standing ovation as she was wheeled through the facility.

Phoebe Putney Health Systems further said Burke’s strength and determination helped her pull through. It took her 17 days to beat the virus.

Maude Burke has been discharged just in time for her 100th birthday.

Meanwhile, YEN.com.gh earlier reported that LaQuita and Jason Coleman of Birmingham have recounted their experience after they survived COVID-19.

The couple was diagnosed with COVID-19 just days apart from each other barely five months after their marriage.

LaQuita and Jason Coleman want others to know they can get through the illness because they survived.

In other news, actor and aspiring member of parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency, John Dumelo, has introduced a new initiative as part of measures to give relief to people in his constituency instituted.

These initiatives, according to him, are to help small scale businessmen and women in the Ayawaso West constituency.
