American rapper Fred The Godson has gone to be with the maker.
The popular rapper died following complications arising from the dreaded coronavirus.
According to TMZ who first broke the news, the rapper died barely weeks after publicly announcing he had contracted COVID-19.
Fred, who is known for his hit songs Toast To That and Doves Fly made his coronavirus status public on April 6, by sharing a photo of himself in a hospital and wearing an oxygen mask to help him breathe.
In his post, the celebrated rapper informed his fans about his condition and asked them for prayers and emotional support.
Just days after his announcement, his wife gave his fans hope by revealing doctors had weened the rapper off his ventilators.

The rapper's wife in an interview with media outlets however said he had to fight hard to recover and be released from hospital.
It is not yet clear if he was discharged from the hospital or died there but his death shook many people including his close friends such as DJ Clark who eulogised him on social media.
''His wordplay was incredible. He was easily one of the most dangerous MCs around. Lately he was battling this horrible virus. Today he lost the fight • Rest In Power To One Of My Favorite MC’s." DJ Clark wrote.
