COVID-19 update: Ghana records 155 recoveries from coronavirus

The latest update on Ghana’s COVID-19 situation by the Ghana Health Service (GHS) has revealed that 21 more people have recovered from Coronavirus infections in the country.

The development, therefore, brings to 155, the total number of recoveries in the country.

According to the Ghana Health Service (GHS), all those who have recovered are persons who were detected through general surveillance.

The GHS update also gave the country’s case count as 1,550 and 11 deaths.

Meanwhile, the regional breakdown is as follows:

* Greater Accra Region – 1,347

* Ashanti Region – 69

* Eastern Region – 57

* Oti Region – 17

* Central Region – 17 

* Northern Region – 13

* Volta Region – 10

* Upper West Region – 8

* Upper East Region – 8

* North East Region – 2 

* Western Region – 1

* Western North Region – 1

* Savannah Region – 0

* Bono Region – 0

* Ahafo Region – 0

* Bono East Region – 0

YEN.com.gh earlier reported that in a bid to augment the already existing health facilities that are fronting in the fight of the coronavirus, President Akufo-Addo has revealed that 88 district hospitals are going to be built.

According to the president, the virus has exposed the deficiencies and unequal distribution and health care facilities in the country.

The president said the government has over the years focused on infrastructure in the two big cities to the detriment of the rest.
