Meanwhile, the former Real Madrid star will have to self-quarantine for the next two weeks on arrival in the European country as part of the rules put in place by the government.

And this means that the five-time Ballon d'Or winner would not be able to reunite with his teammates until the middle of May.

As announced by the Italian prime minister on Giuseppe Conte Sunday, players can return to training on May 4, with teams allowed to train together two weeks later.

It is however not stated by Conte when exactly the league will resume: "The championship will start again only when it is safe."

It was earlier reported that Cristiano Ronaldo appears to have committed his future to Italian champions Juventus until when his contract ends in 2022.

The former Manchester United star joined Juventus from Real Madrid in 2018 on a four-year deal and went on to win the Serie A title in his first season.

Ronaldo also tried his best to make sure Juventus win the Champions League the same season, but they were unable to go past Dutch side Ajax who eliminated them.
