Actor and politician John Dumelo has said he will never give up in politics even if he loses the Ayawaso West-Wuogon seat in the upcoming 2020 election.
He says if he fails to win that seat, he would keep trying till he finally lays his hands on it.
Dumelo was reportedly speaking in an interview with Kasapa FM on Tuesday, April 28, 2020, according to a report sighted by YEN.com.gh on peacefmonline.com.
The actor referred to the story of the late former president Atta Mills and President Akufo-Addo who tried many times before becoming presidents.
He stressed that though the two presidents failed many times in their journey to become presidents, they never gave up until they got what they wanted.
Asked about the fate of his acting career, Dumelo says he won’t stop acting if he is voted into parliament.
Speaking with Kasapa Fm, Dumelo stated that his defeat will give him more experience to make amends in the next election.
Meanwhile, Dumelo came out victorious at the NDC’s parliamentary elections held on Saturday, August 24, 2019.
He won by a landslide victory to become the party’s parliamentary candidate in the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency ahead of the 2020 general elections.
John Dumelo pulled 758 votes while his only contender, Madam Adoboe had 99 votes.
He has been instrumental to the constituency in these COVID-19 times.
Dumelo has made generous donations to residents including constructing water points for the people to enjoy free water.
Dumelo also opened his storeroom to make huge donations of provisions to the people.
