Bayern Munich defender David Alaba has reportedly emerged top priority target for Chelsea boss Frank Lampard this summer.

The Blues' legend is trying to build a new team of young talented players but with a little fusion of old and experienced stars.

Lampard doesn't seem satisfied with some of the players he inherited from his predecessor Maurizio Sarri and he is expected to splash some cash when the transfer window opens.

Although it is unsure if the Bundesliga giants would be willing to part ways with their star, the Premier League legend is said to be interested in the Austrian-born star of Nigeria descent.

According to SunSport, Lampard has already been linked with Leicester's Ben Chilwell and Alex Telles of Porto. He is however drawn to the Bayern star because of his versatility.

Guillem Balague, a reporter made this known on his YouTube channel: "There's another player that if available, if not wanted by others, if he doesn't go anywhere else, Chelsea would like. And that's Alaba.

"He's been approached by other clubs, yes, but Chelsea will be interested in Alaba and I think that his versatility will really work in favour of Frank Lampard.

"He can play as you know in the midfield, in the full-back position as well, of course, that's where he's very well known as, but Pep Guardiola made him much more than just a full-back.

"It will be interesting to see him in the Premier League. That's certainly one to keep an eye on."

Alaba's current deal with Bayern Munich lapses next summer and this has fueled the defender's exit rumours from the Allianz Arena on a free transfer.

Juventus, Real Madrid, and Manchester City are all said to be interested in the player who has also been fielded in the midfield at Bayern.

YEN earlier reported that David Alaba has become a summer transfer target for Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona, reports in Germany claim, cited on Daily Mail.

The Bayern Munich left-back is yet to sign a new deal with the Bavarians after spending ten long years at the Allianz Arena outfit.

According to German news media outlet Bild, the Nigerian-born Austrian international is uncertain whether to extend his deal or look for a new challenge elsewhere.
