List of 6 new symptoms of COVID-19 every Ghanaian should know about

The novel coronavirus disease otherwise known as the COVID-19 has been much talked about on various media platforms about how deadly it is.

The World Health Organisation came out with certain symptoms that when manifested, showed that an individual had contracted the novel coronavirus.

The earlier symptoms were fever, cough, and shortness of breath or difficulty breathing.

These symptoms usually manifested from the second to the fourteenth day of contracting the disease.

The disease could be contracted from droplets of saliva from infected persons when they coughed or sneezed without covering their nose.

These droplets according to WHO got into the body through the mouth, eyes, and nose. Individuals were however advised to mask up and also practice proper hand hygiene by sanitising or washing hands regularly.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has made six additions to its official list of COVID-19 symptoms to help doctors and patients better understand who might be a suspected carrier of the by the novel coronavirus.

This list adds up to the list of COVID-19 symptoms identified by the U.S. public health agency earlier when the disease broke out.

The newly added symptoms include:

1. Chills

2. Repeated shaking with chills

3. Muscle pain

4. Headaches

5. Sore throat

6. Loss of taste or smell

In other news, 10 food vendors and three taxi drivers have tested positive for the COVID-19 disease.

The victims all operate at the Achimota Government Hospital in Accra.

The cases were confirmed following mass testing for persons who run their business within the hospital community.

According to Starrfm.com.gh, the samples were taken to the Noguchi Memorial Center and they came out positive.
