A lucky man has won over GHC5 million lottery jackpot twice in one day after 30 years of playing the same number unsuccessfully.

The man identified as Joe B was announced as the winner of two $1 million (GHC5,802,508.00) powerball jackpots on Wednesday, March 25, 2020.

He claimed the winnings on Friday, April 24, as reported by KUSA-TV.

Colorado Lottery communications director Meghan Dougherty said he bought one ticket in the morning and the other in the evening.

"This is not a drill. Colorado had two big powerball winners last night! $1 million winning ticket sold at seven- eleven on Widefield at Fontaine in Colorado Springs and $2 million winning ticket sold at Alta Convenience on N. Elizabeth in Pueblo. Congrats winners." Colorado Lottery tweeted.

The Colorado Lottery received approval earlier in April to process winning tickets worth $10,000 or more at the claims office amid the coronavirus pandemic.

In this, winners were supposed to make an appointment to claim their prize in person or through the mail.

Recently, a young dad who lost his job due to COVID-19 won GHC 17.4 million lottery.

The unnamed winner who was said to be in his 20s from Adelaide, Australia, had been so stressed and worried about how he would support his family after the coronavirus crisis pushed him out of employment.

But all that changed in a stunning turnaround of fortune when his numbers came up in the lottery and he won the top prize in Australia's the Lott's Set For Life game, Mirror reported.

"I checked my online account last night and saw I had won. I woke up my wife to tell her and she screamed,"

"It is unbelievable! I checked my online account so many times to see if it was real... it is a wonderful feeling," the winner was quoted by The Lotto.
