On Saturday, May 2, 2020, reports went viral about the death of Bishop Nyarko who passed on at the Ridge Hospital in Accra.
Bishop Nyarko thus becomes the latest popular Kumawood actor to have passed on.
YEN.com.gh has compiled a list of five Kumawood actors whose deaths broke the hearts of Ghanaians.
1. Bishop Nyarko:
As already known Bishop Nyarko has passed on and his death is a big blow to Ghanaians.
Bishop Nyarko was one of the best actors in the country and he featured in top movies.
The veteran actor has left behind two beautiful daughters.
2. Nana Akwesi Agyei:
The movie industry lost a great actor on December 7, 2017. Nana Akwesi mostly played the role of a chief or opinion leader.
Until his death, he was the president of Miracle Actors Guild in Kumasi and also featured in a number of productions in Kumasi.
3. Kwame Owusu Ansah:
Owusu Ansah's death came as a shock to many Ghanaians. He died on May 2, 2008 (same May 2 date that Bishop Nyarko died).
He died from injuries sustained from an automobile accident on the Tema Motorway in Accra.
4. Abass Nurudeen:
On November 7, 2018, news broke about the death of top Kumawood actor Abass Nurudeen.
Abass popularly known as Blinkz died after he was stabbed in a brawl in Kumasi.
John Evans Kwadwo Bosompem popularly known as Santo died in 2002.
He featured in movies speaking Twi. He usually acted with his close compatriot, Judas.
