Yaw Sarpong finally opens up on how he got a collaboration with Sarkodie
Legendary Ghanaian gospel musician, Yaw Sarpong has revealed how he managed to land a collaboration with rapper Sarkodie.

Yaw Sarpong said the collaboration came about after a radio interview in the US in which Sarkodie said throughout his life, Yaw Sarpong’s songs are what he listens to whenever he is home.
Veteran Ghanaian gospel musician, Yaw Sarpong, has narrated how he managed to land a collaboration with rap artiste, Sarkodie.

In an interview on Happy FM and monitored by YEN.com.gh, Yaw Sarpong said a friend of his who lived in the US and had listened to the Sarkodie interview, quickly called him to tell about it.
He added that when the host asked Sarkodie if there will be a possible collaboration between him and Yaw Sarpong, Sarkodie said if the call comes, he will honour it.

“The host asked him if there is a possibility of a collaboration someday, since Yaw Sarpong’s songs are what he mostly listens to. Sark responded that if I do call him for a collab, he will go, or if he’s recording a song which he feels he needs me on, he will reach out to me,” Yaw Sarpong recalled.

He disclosed that upon hearing this, he felt that it is only nice to respond when someone shows interest in working together, and also, Sarkodie has a lot of followers.
Yaw Sarpong said he contacted a few of his friends in the media to help me reach out to Sarkodie. After one of his media friends assured him that he will link him to Sarkodie, he got a call from an unknown number and to his surprise, it was Sarkodie.
“I told him that I’ve been looking for him for collaboration and he said he has been looking for me too but that aside for now, he is getting married at Labadi beach coming Saturday, so he would love to have me there”.
Yaw Sarpong shared that at the wedding, Sark confessed that he was extremely because one musician whose songs he has been listening to since his childhood days, was present at his wedding.

He added that he even performed at Sarkodie's wedding.
A few days later, Sarkodie called him to bring the song that he wanted to do a collaboration with him on.
“So it was not like I forced myself to get a collaboration with him because he is rich, but rather he was the one who said that he loves my music and always listens to them”, he cleared.
On March 2, 2020 Yaw Sarpong released a song titled 'Ahobraseɛ' which features Sarkodie.
YEN. com.gh earlier reported that Yaw Sarpong has disclosed that his biggest breakthrough in his over 43 years music career is getting award-winning rapper Sarkodie on a song.
In an interview, Yaw Sarpong said he was extremely satisfied with Sarkodie's efforts on the 'Ahobraseɛ' hit song.
He stated that although he has been in the music industry for long, his greatest dream was to feature Sarkodie on a song.
