Top NPP constituency chairman involved in fatal accident; sustained severe injuries
- The NPP chairman of the Asuogyaman constituency in the Eastern region, Dr Akyea Darkwa, has been involved in a fatal accident

Information reaching YEN.com.gh indicates that the New Patriotic Party chairman of the Asuogyaman constituency in the Eastern region, Dr Akyea Darkwa, was involved in a fatal accident Monday evening, May 5, 2020.
According to a JoyNews report, Dr. Darkwa was returning from Accra with other executive members of the party.
The report further revealed that he was travelling alone in his vehicle when the accident occurred.

The accident is believed to have been after the politician's vehicle run into a broken-down truck on the Asutuare road, which had no reflectors or any warning signs for motorists plying the road.
Dr Darkwa is currently on admission at the Akosombo Hospital awaiting referral to the Saint Joseph Hospital in Koforidua.
He is reported to have sustained multiple fracture injuries in the right leg and hand

In other news, member of Parliament for Dome Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo, has issued a public plea to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to help as her life is in danger.
The Dome Kwabenya MP, who is facing stiff competition from Ghana’s Ambassador to India has lamented that her life is in danger.
According to her, an attempt on her life last week backfired when assailants who thought she was in the Constituency Chairman’s residence, launched an assault on the house.
