Ursula Owusu shuts down Dansoman MTN office for violating social distancing

- The minister gave the directive after the telco branch failed to adhere to the social distancing directive

- She, however, did not hesitate to scold the customers gathered there

The Minister of Communication, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful has out of anger ordered for the closure of the Dansoman Zodiac MTN branch for non-adherence to the social distancing directive.

In a video sighted by YEN.com.gh, the minister chanced upon customers awaiting their turn to be attended to while on her way to her office.

Seated under a canopy outside the Dansoman MTN office, the customers, numbering over 20 were seen seated very close to each other.

She, however did not hesitate to scold the customers gathered there and criticised the management of MTN for disregarding recommended procedure for companies operating in the wake of the COVID-19.

Out of anger, she enquired from the customers if their lives meant nothing to them.

“Is your life less important than what you came to do at the MTN office,” she asked. “If you leave a go home you would have infected everyone else in your house”.

As at Tuesday, May 5, Ghana the coronavirus cases still remained at 2, 719 with a total of 294 recoveries and 18 deaths.

Shiela quizzed why MTN of all would do this.

In other news, NDC's Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has called on government to temporarily open the borders.

According to him, many Ghanaians have been left stranded in other countries following the closure of our borders.

He added that Akuffo-Addo should grant our fellow citizens a narrow window of return from other countries and be quarantined.
