Ghanaian Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has spoken highly of missing singer Castro and described him as a legend.
He has also contributed an amount of GHC10,000 as a token to be sent to Castro’s family.
Shatta Wale disclosed this in a chat with music producer JayQ.
Remembering the good old days, Shatta Wale said Castro was always ready to help him at the time that he had nothing and even no food to eat.
He recalled when he heard a knock at his door one day and opened only to find Castro standing at the door with a polythene bag.
According to him, the Bone Shaker hit maker had bought a few clothes for him from America, where he had attended a show.
Shatta Wale said he was so surprised and touched by Castro’s gesture that he begun to like him so much and also to get closer to him.
Before Castro visited his house with the gift, Shatta Wale said he and the missing musician were not on such terms.
Shatta Wale also fondly recalled how Castro encouraged him to work hard because he saw him as a star and “the one to buy him a car”.
He also said he was in talks with other musicians to organise a yearly shown in commemoration of Castro.
