The former Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Bernard Allotey Jacobs has decided to stop attending political discussions on radio stations including Peace FM after he was suspended by his party.
He, today, Wednesday, May 13, 2020, refused to show up on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo' programme.
NDC's social commentator, in an interview with Kwami Sefa Kayi, apologised for not showing up and explained his reasons.
According to him, it would not be because of one man (him) that a whole political party would boycott a show
In an interview on Peace FM's morning show 'Kokrokoo', Wednesday morning, Allotey Jacobs who was expected to be in the studio said "it cannot be that because of one man, a whole political party will boycott your show". "Peace FM is part of my success . . . what happened last week I still don’t understand. Those I started politics within the 70s called and spoke to me and so I came to the conclusion that I won't come . . . I am very sorry; I know I will disappoint you.
He added that whatever that happened last week, he still does not understand, but he has taken council from others and has decided to step back.
Allotey Jacobs was suspended by the NDC for what it described as “persistent anti-party conduct” in a statement signed by the national chairman of the party, Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo.
Allotey Jacobs’ suspension followed a decision of the NDC to boycott Peace FM’s morning show, Kokrokoo, hosted by ace journalist, Kwami Sefa Kayi.
The party explained that the station had adopted an “unfair panelling system that the Production Team of that program has continuously foisted on the NDC over a number of months”.
Meanwhile, the host Peace FM's morning show, Kokrokoo, Kwami Sefa Kayi, stated emphatically that there is no way he is going to drop Bernard Allotey Jacobs from his programme.
According to DGN Online, Sefa-Kayi indicated that the immediate past Central regional chairman of the NDC will continue to be part of his Wednesday panel.
