COVID-19: Ghana's case count now 5,408; deaths now at 24

New figures released by the Ghana Health Service has revealed that Ghana's case count has now increased to 5,408.

The statistics further revealed that two more persons who tested positive for COVID-19 have passed away thus, pushing the total death count to 24.

Also the total number of recoveries has also shot up to 514.

Meanwhile, 10 inmates of the Ashaiman police cell in the Greater Accra region have tested positive to the novel coronavirus.

Authorities are awaiting results for 44 others who share the same cell with the 10 confirmed persons.

According to a report by theghanareport, the infected inmates have been isolated to a different facility for treatment.

Officials from the health directorate of the Ashiaman municipality conducted the exercise. They extracted the samples about two weeks ago.

Law enforcement officers at the station who were also tested are yet to receive their results.
