Popular Kumasi-based preacher, Akwasi Awuah, has told the origins of the now-deceased Pastor Apraku My Daughter.
According to Akwasi Awuah, Apraku was originally a wizard and fetish priest who was brought from Berekum in the Bono region.
After he was brought to Kumasi by the Christ Redeemer Church, some circumstances led to him becoming a pastor within a short time even though he had no real training as one.
Narrating the circumstances, Akwasi Awuah disclosed that Apraku was possessed by a powerful deity called Di Asempa and it took about six scissors to cut off his dreadlocks when he was brought in adding that the spirit in him was resisting and thus caused the five scissors to break.
Not long after Apraku's deliverance and arrival in Kumasi, the church had a crusade but it was not very successful on the first day as only 12 people decided to give their lives to Christ.
On the second day, it was suggested that Apraku be made to give a testimony about his wizardry and that proved a success as loads of people were drawn to the crusade with over 150 people responding to the altar call.
Following the resounding success, Apraku was made to talk about his time as a fetish priest the next day and that also attracted so many people and a lot of money from the crowd.
Having seen the success of his testimonies, Apraku saw an opportunity in becoming a preacher even though he had no training.
And it was at that time that he started preaching and later introduced magic tricks and spiritual directions as we see today.
"So it was the church that pushed him into pastoral work even though he was not fully delivered...It is Apraku who started magic and directions in pastoral work and not Joshua Agyei," the firebrand evangelist stated.
Akwasi Awuah made the revelation on Wednesday, May 20, 2020, while reacting to a video of Apraku walking in town drunk which went viral online.
Meanwhile, Pastor Apraku My Daughter is no more. He, unfortunately, passed away on the same afternoon as Akwasi Awuah made his revelations.
