Meanwhile, YEN.com.gh earlier reported that the federal government said that it would not be publishing the coronavirus test results of Nigerian returnees from Dubai, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

This was made known by the director-general of Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Dr Chikwe Ihekweazu, on Thursday, May 14, in Abuja during the 31st joint nation briefing of the presidential task force on Covid-19.

He said the test result of the returnees, who are still in compulsory 14-day isolation, will be shared with those affected.

“We are doing the test, even when the tests are out, we are not going to offer it to you. We will offer it to the returnees. We are not going to make public the results whether you just came back from Dubai or you are living in Nigeria. Results are meant for patients who got tested,” he said.

It should be noted that the NCDC boss said that the agency is looking inwards as it studies cases from other countries to drive needed solutions.

In other news, a dedicated team of local researchers is working on a Covid-19 vaccine with a modification process that can be completed within three weeks to combat Sars-Cov-2 virus and go through a human trial in six months.

The team involved in the vaccine development is called Home-grown Esco Aster and they are working with the United States biotechnology company, Vivaldi Biosciences, as they combine proteins from different viruses to find a cure.
